Three teas that carry a morning between them. Bold spiced chai to wake up on, a single garden Assam for the second cup, and something clean and green for the afternoon. Three 100g pouches, 150 cups, and a third off buying them separately.
What is in the box
- Masala Chai Loose Tea, 3.53oz. CTC black tea with whole cardamom, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Boil it with milk for the real thing.
- Everyday Assam Loose Tea, 3.53oz. Malty and strong enough to take milk without disappearing.
- Green Tea Loose Tea, 3.53oz. Light and crisp, about a third the caffeine of coffee.
How to drink it through the day
Chai first, two heaped teaspoons boiled on the stove with milk and sugar in the pan. Assam mid morning, a heaped teaspoon, three to five minutes, milk optional. Green after lunch, let the kettle stand two minutes off the boil first, then two to three minutes in the cup.
All three are bought straight from gardens in Assam, Darjeeling and the Nilgiris, blended by hand in small batches. No auction houses, no flavour sprays, no additives. Fifty cups in each pouch.

How to brew it
Three teas, three rules
Nothing here is fussy. Each tea wants one thing, and once you know which of the three it belongs to you will get it right every time.
Boil it, do not steep it
Two heaped teaspoons in a cup of water, boil hard for two minutes, add a cup of milk and bring it back. Sugar goes in the pan, not the cup.
Straight off the kettle
One heaped teaspoon, boiling water, and take it out on time. Past five minutes the tannins come through and it turns sharp. Takes milk well.
Never boiling water
Let the kettle stand two minutes off the boil first. Boiling water is what makes green tea bitter. About a third the caffeine of coffee.
